Our Story
A proud tradition of developing youth leaders through scouting.
Troop & Pack 1517 is a vibrant scouting organization chartered by Masjid Muhammad, The Nation's Mosque, in Washington, D.C. For years, we have been dedicated to developing young people into confident, capable leaders through the time-tested traditions of Scouting.
Our program brings together youth and families from diverse backgrounds, united by shared values of character, citizenship, fitness, and leadership. Whether through weekend campouts, community service projects, or merit badge workshops, every scout in our troop and pack is given the tools to succeed both on the trail and in life.
We are proud to be part of a community that values education, discipline, and service — and we welcome all families who share our commitment to raising the next generation of leaders.

Outdoor Adventure
The outdoors is our classroom. Through camping, hiking, and exploration, scouts develop resilience, self-reliance, and a love of nature.

We develop youth leaders through the patrol method, giving scouts real responsibility and mentorship opportunities.
